A new wave in Iranian music
It was about two months ago that I heard about a new musician-singer named “Mohsen Namjo”, and It was just yesterday that I heard one of his song via a link in one of my friends blog.
He have a very strange music I’m not a music specialist to name his style but I’m sure that he have his very unique style in Iranian music, he don’t sing in normal, modern and traditional ways, he uses his voice as an instrument so you may hear almost every thing. You can also hear some Jazz, Rock, Blues and specially Iranian traditional music in his tracks. He mix every thing in a very new, strange and creative way. As far as I know he have 5 albums waiting in the line to be released and none of the officially released yet, take a look at his web site, and you can download one of his clips called “Zolf bad Bad” here (HQ/LQ) beside reading the lyrics translation to English.

music in my opinion is the most refined art.
u cant as a musician mix everything together n prouldly speak of ur new style n pattern! i heard about his music that he’s made this innovation in mixing not as wat others did like puuting guitar n Setar together,but by mixing iranian traditional,rap,… as u said.this is funny i think! rap is one type of music with special purpose requiring special equipment songs ….
iran’s traditional is another.the same r other types.if u cant track the rules of each type u cant proudly say this my new music genre(i mix them together)!! dono if i could make myself clear or not.But the passage of time will prove if he n his music is just like a passing excitement as i know it or really an original genre.
